  • Mistah F.A.B. was primarily raised by his mother and grandparents because his father was incarcerated for most of his childhood. He eventually died of AIDS-related complications when Mistah F.A.B. was 12 years old.
  • In his teenage years, he was a keen basketball player and used to play point guard for his high school team. He was forced to quit the sport after he had sustained an on-court injury.
  • It was only after quitting basketball that he had turned to music. He started entering local freestyle rap competitions and had soon earned a reputation as a formidable rapper/freestyler. His stage name, Mistah F.A.B., stands for ‘Money Is Something To Always Have – Forever After Bread’.
  • His music career kicked off in the late 1990s and in a few years, he had gained prominence for pioneering the Hyphy Movement in the San Francisco Bay Area.
