The assistant manager at a South Carolina Burger King who allegedly served customers French fries that had been fished out of a trash can has been fired, the fast-food giant said.
Burger King confirmed Jamie Major’s termination by the local franchise operator and strongly condemned her suspected actions in a statement to The Post Thursday.
“These allegations do not align to the brand’s commitment to quality food and service and creating an exceptional Guest experience,” a company representative wrote.
“The employee in question has been terminated by the Franchisee of this location. The Franchisee is cooperating with local authorities, and because this remains an ongoing investigation, we are unable to share additional details at this time,” the statement continued.
Major lost her job in the wake of her arrest Monday on a felony charge of tampering with food over claims that the 39-year-old Burger King staffer mixed French fried removed from the trash with freshly cooked fries.
The incident began unfolding on July 9, when officers from the Union Police Department were called to the burger joint on Duncan Bypass in Union for a reported disturbance.
Cops observed two women screaming at Burger King workers, threatening them, and hurling expletives.
When the women ignored the officers’ request to calm down, they were arrested for disorderly conduct, reported Fox Carolina.
Two days later, Burger King headquarters contacted the police, telling them that Major had been serving customers fries from the trash.
Police investigated the stomach-turning allegations and a warrant was issued for Major’s arrest.
The woman had been released from jail after posting a $20,000 bond, reported The State.
If convicted, Major could be looking at up to 20 years in prison.
